ALLIE’S PLAYSCHOOL

CORE VALUES

Learn through play

I believe there is power behind letting them be little while also helping them reach their full potential. In today’s age where we are constantly pulled in various directions, I believe we should give our children the opportunity to slow down to build social emotional learning.

Small family group size

Your child has the option of the whole side of the table to themselves for a meal, but they choose to sit so close to their friend they are touching? The playschool family. You receive a text message from another parent asking how your child is doing when they are sick? The playschool family. When I welcome you into my home, you become a part of unmatchable connections and relationships, not only for your child but as the parents as well.

Parent Teacher Collaboration

Your child is having a hard time with bedtime routine? Let’s brainstorm. Your child has suddenly refused to eat foods they have loved? Let’s brainstorm. Our collaboration ideas not enough? Let’s reach out to our partnerships! I believe it takes a village in these early years and teamwork makes the dreamwork.

The story behind

Playschool

While studying Special Education at Grand Valley State University, I discovered a deep love for educating children with severe disabilities during my student teaching experience. That passion led me to earn a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, and I spent four wonderful years teaching children with severe cognitive impairments.

In the classroom, I found joy in teaching functional life skills, introducing communication tools, and advocating for inclusion in our community. Helping each child thrive in their own way truly filled my heart.

After having our first child in 2021, my husband and I struggled to find local daycare—so I created the solution myself. In May of 2022, I opened Allie’s Playcare.

Since then, I’ve been learning the ins and outs of running a small business, caring for six children under the age of three each day, and navigating life as a new mama. But I realized I was missing something—the joy of intentional, classroom-style teaching.

That’s what led me here. I’m thrilled to introduce Allie’s Playschool, a program created for children ages 2 and up. It's a space where toddlers can play, learn, and grow—and where families feel supported every step of the way.
