Last week in our classroom: pumpkins

Sensory table: apple pie

filler (oatmeal)

small manipulative (small reusable pie trays, green/red pom poms, felt circle and strips)
various scoopers

Activities:

Pumpkin Patch Process Art – markers for vines + bingo daubers for pumpkins made the cutest creations.
Pumpkin Rolling Painting – we let mini pumpkins do the work of moving the paint across the paper.
Pumpkin Gut Exploration – from pulling out seeds to squeezing the slimy insides, the kids discovered textures, numbers, and lots of sensory fun.
Pumpkin Pie in a Cup – crushing graham crackers, mixing pudding + pumpkin, and topping it off with big belly laughs from spraying whipped cream

🎃 October with Brookdale was all about pumpkins!
We kicked things off with songs the kiddos practiced all week, created our very own square pumpkins, explored the letter P with play dough, and ended the morning with a sweet snack + the story Spookley the Square Pumpkin. 🍂📚

These monthly Brookdale mornings are quickly becoming a favorite tradition—for littles, families, and residents alike.
